
Guitarist Karl Aranjo began playing guitar as a boy and it quickly became the main focus in his life. Family and friends often would comment that he learned to play overnight and he quickly became known around his home town as a red hot guitarist. He started performing professionally in rock, blues and folk bands while attending Stockton State College in Pomona New Jersey. Upon graduation he began to play in the Atlantic City scene and it was then that he met an up with an old family friend, jazz icon Tony Mottola who encouraged him to attend Berklee College Of Music in Boston Massachuttes. It was there that he gained the friendship and support of his mentor, the great William G. Leavitt, creator of the Berklee method. Karl attended Berklee for 5 years leaving with a degree in jazz performance and the respect of his teachers and fellow students.
Upon relocating to Southern California in 1992 Karl quickly became a highly sought after instructor and busy working guitarist. Soon thereafter he decided to form his own group so he could play the unique and eclectic blend of jazz, blues and rock he developed under the tutelage of some of the worlds greatest guitar teachers including Ted Greene, Jim Kelley, Robert Conti, William G. Leavitt, Larry Baione, Ron Eschete.
Karl is also known as a highly respected author of guitar instructional books having published 6 titles for the Hal Leonard Corporation and Los Angeles' Professional Music Institute. These include Guitar Chord Guru, Guitar Scale Guru, A Blueprint For Hot Guitar, Cool Chords and The Working Musicians Dictionary Of Terms and Guitar Buddy. In addition to being a highly sought after teacher, copyist, arranger, established author, seasoned studio professional and competant recording engineer, Karl is a director of educational content for guitaru.com, an internet based distance learning application for those wishing to acquire professional level guitar skills.
